Zoë Brown-Holten
Zoe Brown-Holten is a proud First Nations woman of the Dunghutti and Gomeroi peoples — a performer, choreographer, and collaborator whose work spans stage, screen, and community.
As a Principal Performer with Joel Bray Dance, Zoe starred in Monolith (2025), earning a Green Room Award nomination for Outstanding Performer. She then took Garabari on a sweeping 2026 national tour across Sydney Festival, Midsumma Festival, Merrigong Theatre, Canberra Theatre Centre, Darwin AANT, Katherine, and Orange. A five-star Limelight Magazine production that extended beyond performance into community workshops, yarning, and deep relationship-building with mob along every stop. Her stage credits also include co-choreographing GUURANDA with Jacob Boehme (Adelaide Festival 2024).
On screen, Zoe leads as Jeremy Buttons across 20 episodes of Knee High Spies (ABC Kids), which won Children’s Production of the Year at the 2026 Screen Producers Australia Awards, and portrayed Janelle Goolagong in the ABC series Goolagong.
Her choreographic voice extends beyond the stage — she performed and choreographed at the Evonne Goolagong Cawley Day Ceremony at the Australian Open alongside Budjerah, and this year brings that same energy to Dreamtime at the G, creating a fierce and deadly duo for one of Australia’s most celebrated First Nations sporting and cultural events.
Zoe’s presence extends beyond stage and screen into the world of fashion. She danced at and modelled in the Grace Lillian Lee Collection as part of RECLAMATION — a First Nations Fashion Design Runway showcase celebrating First Nations creativity, sovereignty, and style.
Zoe teaches at Chunky Move, bringing her signature movement qualities of Groove, Spirit, and Joy to the next generation of artists, and mentors young artists with the Boonwurrung Ngargee Dancers.
