Geoffrey Watson

Geoffrey Watson is a Melbourne-based performer, choreographer and teacher.

Geoffrey was trained in dance at the Australian Ballet School, in fashion design at Central St. Martins (London), and is currently undertaking a Masters in Design for Performance degree at the Victorian College of the Arts.  Geoffrey’s ballet classes focus on understanding ballet technique from a point of ease, efficiency and sensory immersion. In these classes we consider ballet as a dynamic form, encouraging individual exploration above the achievement of abstract classical ideals.

Geoffrey has worked worked as a dancer and performer with companies/artists including Phillip Adams BalletLab, Nana Biluš-Abaffy, Natalie Abbott, Lee Serle, Alisdair Macindoe, Gekidan Kaitaisha and The Australian Ballet. Geoffrey’s own choreographic work includes Camel (Next Wave Festival 2016), Loving You Ad Nauseam (Melbourne Fringe Festival, 2016) DISTRACTION: Smackdown! (Melbourne Fashion Festival, 2017), DISTRACTION: Tim is a Piece of Shit (Counihan Gallery, 2017), Geoffrey’s Corpse (Uferstudios, Berlin, 2019) and Rachael Wisby (Newport Substation/Lucy Guerin Inc., 2019).
