Brooke Stamp

Brooke’s classes invite dancers to experience the transmission of learned sequences, as well as somatic and speculative visualization. Informed by a rich history of post-modern dance practice & improvisation, her teaching makes room for internalized inquiry through simple opening sequences, actions, and stretches, before introducing choreographed phrasing which leverages attention to forces, momentum, rhythm, and spatialization. Brooke encourages dancers to synthesise awareness at both organal and energetic registers, as well as observe, experience and hone new dynamic strategies for self-organisation in space/time.
