Amit Noy

Amit Noy is a dancer, choreographer, and writer. Raised in Hawai’i and Aotearoa New Zealand, he now lives and works in Marseille. His work has been presented by Festival Montpellier Danse, Théâtre de la Ville—Paris, Sadler’s Wells London, and the Auckland Art Gallery, among others. He counts Miguel Gutierrez, Deborah Hay, and Ishmael Houston-Jones among his teachers, and most significantly has spent the past seven years in deep collaboration with Michael Keegan-Dolan and Rachel Poirier of Teac Damsa. His writing on dance has been published by Artforum, BOMB Magazine, the Brooklyn Rail, and Gagosian Quarterly. He has received the Pina Bausch Fellowship and a Springboard award from the Arts Foundation of New Zealand. ‘Amit‘ means good friend.
