Alice Heyward
Alice Heyward is a dancer, choreographer, dramaturge, teacher and writer from Australia living in Berlin. Her practice develops through diverse collaborations. Through movement-thought, she explores the production of embodied poetics. Her teaching of Klein Technique™ is grounded in understanding the body as an integral whole to maximise the individual’s unique movement potential. Artistic projects in 2025 include presenting her work ‘Brigid’ at Dancehouse, Melbourne and La Trobe Art Institute, Bendigo; performing in an exhibition by Xavier Le Roy; and dramaturgy for Adam Linder’s ‘Tournament’. Alice collaborated closely with musician Gregor on his recent album ‘Songs for springs & nails, piano, electric bass, abandoned guitar and voices Vol. I’, recently released. Alice and Gregor will collaborate again this year in the making of ‘The Fly Agaric Waltzes’, to premiere at Darebin Arts Centre. Alice is a current Masters research candidate at Melbourne University, undertaking her project (In)Visible Pedagogy: Scoring Performance Conservation’. She is a regular dance critic, writing for Tanzschreiber, Spike and other publications.
