Aimee Schollum
Aimee is a Melbourne based, New Zealand born dancer, choreographer, teacher and graphic designer. Graduating with a Bachelor of Art and Design (Honours) AUT 2010 & a Diploma of Dance (Elite Performance) 2015 she uses this diversity to express her artistic voice across multiple mediums.
Since her move to Australia (2013) she has collaborated and produced artwork for Stompin: Fully Grown, Australian Youth Dance Festival: 2017 re-brand & Emergence, Yellow Wheel Set Design: The People’s Dance, and Lucy Guerin: 2017 Pieces for Small Spaces to name a few. Aimee has performed in Jaala Jensen’s Forgive Me Athena, I Choose the Beast (2017), James Batchelor’s Metasystems (Hobart 2017), Stephanie Lake’s Colossus (Arts Centre Melbourne 2018) and was a Young Leader for the community project SIMULCAST by Chunky Move (2019).
In 2018 Aimee was part of the Tr.IPP cohort guided by Artistic Director Israel Aloni and mentored by Chris Evans, Keren Rosenberg and David Pledger to name a few. During this time she also self-produced and directed her first independent work Sonos which won Best Dance/Physical Theatre in the 2018 Melbourne Fringe Festival.
Alongside her creative endeavours Aimee teaches Barre, is a qualified YA500 Ashtanga Yoga Instructor and currently runs her own yoga courses throughout the year
