Suitable for intermediate to professional level dancers or hobbyists. Teachers share particular methodologies they have each developed and utilise in their own current choreographic processes.

Workshop duration: 120 minutes

This class is free for First Peoples; non-Indigenous participants can access it at a special YIRRAMBOI festival rate of $10.

Class description: Moving with the Bones 

Led by Nancy Wijohn and Kelly Nash of Body Island, this somatic-based movement class draws on principles of ConTact C.A.R.E Flinchlock Release — a New Zealand-born modality that addresses skeletal impacts and pressure patterns. Through guided exploration, participants will engage with the body’s internal architecture, focusing on how bone relationships and structural listening can unlock ease, efficiency, and expressive movement. This class offers a grounded, experiential space to deepen physical awareness.
