SOFTTRAP Screening
Join us for the launch of Amber McCartney’s short film SOFTTRAP, commissioned as part of Chunky Move’s Activators program.
SOFTTRAP uses body horror tropes to redefine the flesh as a site for harbouring instability. Using replicas of her own arms, created by Amber and special effects makeup artist, Kiana Jones, the artist inhabits a transformed body that fluctuates between eerily familiar and disturbingly foreign.
Join us at 7:30pm, Thu 21 October for the live-streamed premiere screening of SOFTTRAP followed by an artist conversation facilitated by Melanie Lane, featuring Amber McCartney, Activators 7 artists Harrison Hall and Luca Dante, and Chunky Move Artistic Director Antony Hamilton. The conversation will be Auslan interpreted.
